Raven Roberts, a young, up and coming jewelry designer, is the owner of Impressive Swank, a fine jewelry and accessories company located in the Los Angeles area. She’s looking to make a big impact on the accessories industry with her unique, hand-crafted designs.
What is Impressive Swank and what “woman” does she represent?
Impressive Swank is a fine accessories brand specializing in jewelry, handbags, and other fine accessories. She represents the woman who loves well made trendy classics!
How did you come up with Impressive Swank? What was your inspiration?
It was born from my love of jewelry and handbags, and out of the frustration of not being able to find exactly what I was looking for. The things I see in my everyday life me, are what inspire me whether it’s a movie, nature, or anything that may catch my eye!
What makes your jewelry different from all the other jewelry we see out there?
It’s all handmade by me with a mixture of chain and natural stones, which create unique pieces.
What goes into making each hand-made piece for your collections?
A lot of time, love, and creativity. Each piece I make is a part of me! My line is my baby. I take a lot of time to make sure each piece is crafted perfectly and is exactly the way I designed it to be.
What is the most challenging part of starting a hand-made jewelry line?
Honestly, making everything by hand but it’s also the most rewarding part.
What advice can you give to anyone looking to pursue a career in the jewelry making business?
Never give up and make sure your designs can’t be seen everywhere. Believe in yourself and invest in a quality photographers and models - photos are everything!
What can we expect from Impressive Swank in the near future?
I am currently working on my fall 2011 collection which should be out in the next few months, and I have this image in my head of a rocker Holly Golightly so we shall see what comes of that!
